Was hoping you could point me in the right direction in terms of some good places to check out!!

    Randomly yours,

    • manilaartblogger says:

If you will be in the central business district of Makati, some good galleries to check out are the ones I’ve featured here: Tin-Aw in Makati Ave., Drawing Room in Metropolitan Ave., Finale Art File in Chino Roces Ave, Silverlens and Manila Contemporary in Chino Roces Extension.

For dining and entertainment, check out Greenbelt, Serendra, Bonifacio High St., and Glorietta

For the downtown Manila area, there’s Hiraya Gallery and the Malate area for restos and bars
For the Ortigas Area north of Makati, check out Art Informal and Blanc Compound, and the SM Megamall area for shopping and dining.

You can google all these places for exact locations. Good luck!

  12. Wow! thanks for the tips!!!

  13. Marlene Y. Ong -is truly an arts afficianado, likewise she had a soft heart on environmental issues .On the recent arts exhibition on her gallery, she featured live reading/performances with the special participation of Christian Mack , a young Environmental Consultant from the Bureau d’Etudes Molinet-France.

Earth stewardship just like the artist management is a great advocacy in face of modernity and economic uncertainty.By doing these two jobs Marlene Ong deserves a commendation.

i’d like to hear from you your take on the recent show in hiraya gallery, the SACRAMENT by dilla. thanks. it’s like going around these shows each time you blogged them Thanks

    • manilaartblogger says:

You got me for that one, I did not see the actual show. Although from the catalogue and invite, the works reminded me very much of Jojo Legaspi.

  21. Yeh, I do hope you drop by at hiraya, there are much more edgy works up there.

    • manilaartblogger says:

Thanks! I do love Hiraya. I do not squirm at the edgy. But to be honest, it may be difficult for an artist to outdo Jojo Legaspi, one of my favorites, who does the profane and sacrilegious with such finesse. But again, I did not see the Dilla show.

  22. nesty says:

you got to see dilla”s work. it’s not profane nor sacrilegious.

  23. manilaartblogger says:

My apologies, I was referring to the show before this– Balandra, I think. Will drop by Dilla’s show. Thank you for the tip!

  24. nesty says:

still waiting for your opinion re dilla show. hope you can visit hiraya.

    • manilaartblogger says:

I had one hour to spare, and unfortunately, it was a choice between the National Museum or Hiraya. Sungdu-an won out.

This function can be easily done.:-)
